Others, like me, who are undersupplies and just enoughers could increase supply by pumping the full 30 min.

4. Nighttime Pumping:

Don’t skip the night sessions. Prolactin (the milk-producing hormone) levels are higher at night, making these sessions extra important. It takes a lot of effort on this one but pumping in the middle of the night (MOTN) can really help build and maintain your milk supply those first 4 months.

1. Set Alarms/Reminders:

Use your phone or a timer to remind you of your next session.

2. Portable/Wearable Pumps:

Invest in a good-quality portable pump for on-the-go sessions. I can’t stress this enough! You are a busy mom and you need to be able to plop your pump in your bra and keep going. Look into Willow or Mommed.

3. Stay Hydrated and Nourished:

Your body needs extra fuel for milk production, so drink water to quench your thirst, and don’t skip out on the electrolytes. Electrolytes help your body replenish the minerals you’re being depleted of while lactating. Of course, eat balanced meals and plenty of snacks.

4. Seek Support:

Don’t hesitate to reach out for help or encouragement from fellow moms or lactation consultants.
