Hey there, Medela!
I just wanted to give you some feedback on your PersonalFit Flex flanges. Now, I know you’ve been in the game since 1961, but I have to say, these flanges have fallen a bit short for me. When I first started helping moms find the right size, I noticed that your flanges were shorter compared to other brands out there. And not only that, but I’ve also found that they’re not always true to size. It’s a bit puzzling to me why a company with 50 years of experience would release a product that could potentially slow down a woman’s pumping journey. Have any of you Medela ladies compared the 27mm PersonalFit to the 24/21mm? I’ve always wondered why they made the lengths so different.
Are you currently using the PersonalFit flanges? Do you think you have elastic nipples?
If you’ve noticed your nipples stretching and hitting the ends of the flanges, or if you think your nipples are elastic, you might be experiencing some issues like clogs, engorgement, or low milk supply. So, what’s your next move?
You could try switching to other products like Pumping Pretty Inserts, Lacteck, Pumpin Pal, Beaugen Cushions or MilkDrop. But what if it’s not an issue with elasticity at all? I’ve been recommending standard flanges for a long time, and I suggest giving them a try before going for those other products. Take a look here to see if a simple change in brand might do the trick for you, based on your pump. And hey, if you’re a fan of the white-rim silicone flanges but wish they were longer, I’ve got some good news for you! Nenesupply offers the same thing with longer flanges.
If you also need help with sizing, I’m here for you. Let’s make sure we address all your questions and find the perfect fit to improve your pumping journey. Schedule an appointment with me.
