I enthusiastically started my own business, leaving behind my previous 8-5 legal job to focus on all things breastmilk round-the-clock. However, it all happened incredibly quickly, and in hindsight, I realize that having a mentor during the past few years would have helped me avoid costly errors. Although I still need a mentor, I have always aspired to assist others in the same position I was in a few years ago. My goal is to be of help to them.
To help today, learn from my experience: choose the right credit card. When I started my business, I only used my bank debit card for the first two and a half years. Then, in the middle of the second year, I discovered that Paypal offered a cash-back card with a 1% return, and since it was linked to my account, this made it very convenient. However, I soon realized the 1% cash back wasn’t worth it when I had to pay the taxes. You may wonder why I didn’t get a regular credit card in the first place. Well, I was afraid of going into debt. But when I needed to make large inventory purchases, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to get a credit card.
I recently discovered Chase Business Ink, which offers bonus points just for getting the card, double points for shipping, including 2-5x the points for so many other benefits. I quickly qualified, and it was my best decision yet. I received a $750 bonus and have earned over $2,300 points. My husband also signed up and earned points even faster. With this card, we have already enjoyed two round-trip first-class flights abroad this year, rental car benefits, and insurance coverage for any travel mishaps. Overall, this card has numerous perks that I am grateful to have.
If you aspire to be a successful and well-traveled Boss Mom who takes frequent first-class business trips, this card will help you achieve that goal. Keep following my blogs to see what other tips may help you and don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for advise.
