My name is Crystal, and I am a Certified Lactation Counselor. I can tell you becoming a Lactation counselor is a piece of cake so I know you can become one too!

1. Take an online class at Healthy Children’s Project and pay $625. A required reading of The Pocket Guide for Lactation Management is $75 on their website or you can purchase it on Amazon for $50. They also give you the option to prepay the $120 fee for the following test;

2. Once you finish your class, a certificate of completion will be sent to the (ALPP)  Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice.  From there, if you haven’t already prepaid with the Healthy Children’s Project, you will pay a test fee of $120.

3. The last step is to pass the test.

In all, you can become a Certified Lactation Counselor by paying $795 to $820 and passing a test.
