1. Nipple Queen Ruler: Accurate Sizing for a Comfortable Pumping Experience

What is the Nipple Queen Ruler?

The Nipple Queen Ruler is a patented tool that helps lactation professionals and mothers accurately measure nipple size for the perfect flange fit. No need for circle or paper rulers then adding millimeters and wasting products when the sizing is off. Proper flange sizing is crucial to avoid pain, increase milk output, and make the pumping experience more comfortable. The number you see in the window of the ruler is the size to offer the client.

How to Use the Nipple Queen Ruler:

  1. Start with Clean Hands: Always wash your hands before handling the Nipple Queen Ruler.
  2. Measure in a Relaxed State: Ensure the mother’s nipple is not stimulated. It would be best to measure at least 1 hour before pumping or nursing.
  3. Place the Ruler: Hold the ruler at the base of the nipple, ensuring it is aligned correctly.
  4. Read the Measurement: The ruler’s notches will indicate the size of the nipple. Use this measurement to select the correct flange size.
  5. Why Proper Sizing Matters: Discuss the importance of proper sizing with the mother, emphasizing comfort, effective milk extraction, and preventing issues like vasospasms or nipple damage.
  6. Nipples Shrink: Gift the ruler to the client. Discuss how nipples can shrink once the nipple has time to heal from using improper flange sizes. The client may need to resize herself at home.

What to Watch Out For:

  • Elastic Nipples: There is no difference in how to use the Nipple Queen Ruler if a mother has elastic nipples. If you’re unsure whether a mother has elastic nipples, please read this guide to help identify this condition. Your client may ask if having elastic issues is a problem. 2. Pumping Pretty Inserts: Solutions for Flat, Inverted, and Elastic Nipples

What are Pumping Pretty Inserts?

Pumping Pretty Inserts are designed to help mothers with flat, inverted, or elastic nipples achieve better suction and more effective pumping. These inserts fit inside 24mm or larger flanges, offering a personalized pumping experience.

How to Use Pumping Pretty Inserts:

  1. Select the Correct Insert: Choose the insert size based on the mother’s nipple size indicated on the Nipple Queen Ruler.
  2. Insert into the Flange: Place the insert snugly into the flange, notch side down.
  3. Position the Nipple: Guide the nipple into the flange with the insert, making sure it is comfortable and secure.
  4. Begin Pumping: Start the pump at a low setting, gradually increasing to a comfortable level.
  5. Monitor and Adjust: Encourage the mother to monitor the fit and comfort, making adjustments as necessary.
  6. Lube it: Some mothers may find a bit of lubricant can help with the transition.

What is the Pump Pod?

The Pump Pod is a unique, hands-free milk-collecting accessory that uses the Pumping Pretty Inserts. Unlike traditional suction cups, it’s designed to address issues like sagging breasts, nipple discoloration, and pain, providing a more effective and comfortable milk collection experience.

How to Use the Pump Pod:

  1. Attach the Insert: Just like with flanges, select the appropriate insert and attach it to the Pump Pod, ensuring the notch is facing down.
  2. Position the Pump Pod: Secure the Pump Pod over the breast using a nursing bra or tank strap, ensuring it is aligned correctly with the nipple.
  3. Adjust the Fit: Make sure the fit is snug but comfortable, adjusting the bra as needed for optimal milk flow.
  4. Hands-Free: The Pump Pod allows for hands-free milk collection, giving the mother more freedom during sessions. Mothers can easily control the suction by simply squeezing the Pod, allowing for a customized and comfortable experience.
